Google Empire

Over the weekend, Google had a hiccup. Users were unable to access the internet, instead getting a warning: "This site may harm your computer". This only lasted less than a hour, but millions of dollars worth of online transactions were lost. Google said on its website that all this amounted to human error. Google's black list of dodgy sites was eraniasly updated and all sites were automatically blocked. Basically the URL of '/' was mistakenly checked in as a value to the file and '/' expands to all URL's. This shows that from a security point of view, if a terrorist or similar outfit really wanted to damage the western business economy, all they would have to do is concentrate on damaging Google.
